Industry context

What is Electronic Visit Verification?

EVV is a way of electronically confirming that a home care visit took place as planned. In the United States, the 21st Century Cures Act requires EVV for Medicaid-funded personal care and home health services, and each state runs its own program and requirements.

An EVV system typically captures the type of service performed, the individual receiving it, the date, the location, the individual providing it, and the time the service begins and ends.

The visit lifecycle VisitChain is designed around

  1. Step 1

    Scheduled

    Visit planned by the agency

  2. Step 2

    Check-in

    Caregiver starts the visit

  3. Step 3

    Care delivered

    Services provided at home

  4. Step 4

    Check-out

    Caregiver ends the visit

  5. Step 5

    Review

    Office reviews exceptions

  6. Step 6

    Recorded

    Visit record finalized

The problem

What VisitChain aims to solve

  • 01

    Slow reconciliation

Paper timesheets and phone check-ins take hours to match against schedules and are easy to get wrong.

  • 02

    Gaps found too late

Missing or inconsistent visit details often surface only after the visit, when they're hardest to correct.

  • 03

    Disconnected teams

Agencies, caregivers, and clients often work from different information about the same visit.

  • 04

Tools that get in the way

Caregivers need something simple enough to use at the start and end of every visit, every day.
